LIFE AFTER DEATH AND DREAMS
November/December 2009
THE ART OF ROBERT ALLEN HANNA
Bob Hanna's favorite topic of conversation concerns the questions everyone asks but can never be sure of the answers. What happens after we die? What are dreams?
Bob Hanna started at The Studio in 2007. He has had some experience in ceramics from a boarding school in Colorado.
Bob's favorite things to do are listening to music, eating food (especially sweets) and sleeping. (Bob once showed up at a Halloween dance dressed as a super hero named Lazy Man) Several sleeping figures appear in this show.
In some of his work Bob combines handwritten text with painted or ceramic surfaces. In one of his text paintings, Bob tells of how he would send letters to God and to his self in the mirror. Bob would always get them back stamped “returned for better address on envelope”
