Repetition

March/April 2013

Repetition is defined as the act of doing something again or the process of repeating. The artists who will be featured in Repetition were chosen for their use of reoccurring colors, themes or subject matter. It is not uncommon for artists to work in a series or even create several versions of the same painting. What makes these artists different is their extreme attention to detail and focus in a particular color palette, theme, or subject matter. Some of these artists have been working on one theme for their entire artistic career. The Repetition show encourages viewers to take a closer look at each artist's work, notice the subtle differences and appreciate their focus.
