People's First Conference
by ABH

This summer I saw a woman testify about losing her children due to the system. There is no system for these people with children so they don’t lose them. I was angry. Mostly mad at the government. We have the same rights as everybody else.
I also went to a workshop on supported living and there was a woman placed in a series of foster and group homes. But now she lives with a roommate. And it seems like to me that she is loving it.

My favorite thing was the workshops. Well, the dance was fun. I saw lots of different types of people all dancing. And some of them even had cowboy hats on. The food was o.k. I liked the fact that I put myself on a diet when I came home. I’ll go next year.
