THE EGG

by Jaimal Kordes

I‘m alone, I’m still.
I’m alive, I’m an egg.
I don’t know how I got here,
but I think I appeared in some odd form.
Sometimes things come and visit me and talk to me.

STUDIO ARTISTS REHEARSE FOR DANCE PERFORMANCE

Aerialist, dance and performance artist Leslie Howabauten is working with a group of Studio artists on a dance theater performance that will be part of Two Left Feet, a two day showcase of dancers and choreographers. "Things That Need Saying and the Search For Beauty and Wilderness" will be a montage of various solo and ensemble explorations in creative movement and expression. The performance will utilise masks and dance to investigate the relationship between self and wilderness. Rehearsals will be occurring on Monday and Wednesday mornings at The Studio during the months of February, March and April.

Leslie is a core member of Synapsis, a performance group that has worked with The Studio in the past. Leslie said she approached Studio artists for this project because she is inspired by them and has enjoyed working on projects with these artists in the past.

The performances will be on Saturday, April 30th and Sunday, March 1st at Redwood Raks in Arcata.
